Time & Location

City of Airdrie - City Hall , 400 Main St S, Airdrie, AB T4B 3C3, Canada

About the event

Indigenous and non-Indigenous people are invited to come to Airdrie to hear Elders from across Treaty 6 & 7 Territories and the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3 to speak at five different events.

Our second talk is on September 9 when Elder Phillomene Stevens from Îethka Stoney Nation will be sharing her stories and teachings.

Due to the nature of the talk the Elder recommends ages 14 and over. The talk may include personal stories that attendees may find unsettling. A trained Trauma Support Worker will be available if anyone needs support.

Register now to reserve your free spot in this special event. Your response will help us plan for seating and refreshments. Registration at Eventbrite: elderphillomene.eventbrite.ca.

We are incredibly grateful to the Calgary Foundation for funding this initiative and to the City of Airdrie for their ongoing support to make this possible.

------------------------------------------------

NEW! We are asking attendees to bring a non-perishable food donation/gift which Elder Phillomene to take to distribute in Stoney Nation.

SPECIAL NOTE: This event will be held in the Airdrie City Council Chambers during airdrieFEST. While there, enjoy Indigenous vendors and performers scheduled for that day. Please know that parking will be limited. For further details visit airdrieFEST.
